Kyle (Iowa) -- Last Man Out by Bob Wilbanks. This story is about the Palawan Massacre. This happened during WWII. It told the stories of the people that were prisoners of war. Most of the 139 POWs were killed. The last man out was "Mac" McDole. It told the truth about what happened on that day. I couldn't put the book down.

Ken (IA)-- Mayflower by Nathaniel Philbrick-- A great history of early New England colonies. I especially like the details about King Phillip's War. Although I had heard of this war before, I didn't know the impact that it had on colonists and Native Americans.
